SZ-R VAS

The SZ-R VAS model is the jet helmet developed by Arai, with a completely redesigned shell that integrates our VAS visor system, improving the helmet's ability to slide over any obstacles and thus maximizing the level of protection in one area of the helmet always critical.Thanks to the shape of the visor (even more aerodynamic), the possibility of installing PRO Shade System, the Diffuser technology inherited from RX-7V and the interior, which improves fit and comfort, SZ-R VAS sets a benchmark in the segment. It is also designed for housing an intercom and for use with glasses.

General

Outer shell: PB-cLc2 (Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction)

The Arai Peripheral Belt patent, inherited directly from the F-1 helmets, greatly increases the strength and flexibility of the shell, while maintaining a low weight and an extremely low center of gravity. Located immediately above the visor opening, this reinforcement allows us to create a thinner EPS, improving the field of vision. To complete the Super Fiber Laminate, a "mechanically expanded" fiber is used which helps to reinforce and fix the various Super Fiber layers, without adding weight. The resins of the new "Z-Mixture" formulation allow the use of a greater quantity of fiber with the same resistance and rigidity, allowing us to create an outer shell that is even lighter and thinner, without compromising safety.

Variable Axis System (VAS)

With the VAS system, the position of the visor mechanism is lowered, offering an average of 24mm of extra space in the temple area, looking for an ideal shape as smooth and round as possible that increases the ability to divert energy. This results in a larger portion of the shell being smoother and more durable along and above the Snell standard test line.

Ventilation

SZ-R VAS Ventilation

The ventilation system that combines the air intakes with the completely redesigned Diffusers, guarantees the maintenance of an optimal temperature, in any conditions of use. The front air intake - redesigned - guarantees an 11% higher inlet air flow compared to the previous generation and thanks to the opening / closing system it is even easier to operate. The Diffusers have been stretched by 20mm and are capable of introducing 19% more air, working in concert with the Air Wing to stabilize the helmet at high speeds.

The system guarantees an 11% greater air flow compared to the previous one. The larger button simplifies opening and closing operations. The system has three positions, closed half open and fully open, to regulate the flow of air and prevent water from entering when closed.

Fresh air can enter directly into the forehead area and temples without the need to drill holes in this critical area of the shell and in the impact liner.

Rear ventilation

To improve the escape of hot air from the inside. Increases the effect of ventilation in the lower part of the helmet.

Rear ventilation: Side air outlets

They create low pressure behind the rear ventilation hole for better hot air extraction. Integrated into the shell for better aerodynamics, they reduce noise and avoid vibrations due to speed. Inside, a small foam rubber barrier helps absorb and reduce excessive noise, without compromising the effectiveness of ventilation.

Tested on the track and designed to significantly reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting, it guarantees more comfort and greater speed. Improves helmet stability at high speeds or when braking and reduces noise. Depending on the model adjustable in five different angles of attack to adapt to any driving position.

Interior

Interior in antibacterial material

They help maintain a neutral acidity level similar to that of human skin and have deodorant properties. For a more comfortable and smoother fit we have developed an even more delicate lining material. The interiors are also equipped with removable micro-padding on the temples and cheeks to further customize the fit.

Replaceable interior

To offer a greater possibility of creating the perfect fit and optimum comfort, the cheek pads feature a removable 5mm layer to add space if needed.
